UFFICIALE: Ryan è il nuovo Connor Macleod

La Summit Entertainment conferma che Ryan indosserà i panni di Connor MacLeod nel remake di Highlander.

 Juan Carlos Fresnadillo sarà il regista, mentre Matt Holloway, che ha scritto lo scritto per Iron Man, ha già scritto lo script anche per questo.

Non è ancora chiaro se vi è stata una proposta ufficiale, ma a quanto pare la Lionsgate-Summit è interessata al rifacimento di Highlander e Ryan sembra essere la loro 1^ scelta, ma al momento, avendo ricevuto altre offerte, sta valutando se accettare o andare verso un altro progetto.

La Summitt ha acquisito i diritti per il remake del film nel 2008.

Rimaniamo in attesa di ulteriori notizie e soprattutto della scelta di Ryan.

Ryan Reynolds, il nuovo Batman

A quanto pare il nostro Ryan abbandona la tuta di Green Lantern per indossare quella di Batman sotto la regia di Duncan Jones.

L'amministratore delegato della Warner Bros, Barry Meyer, ha dichiarato "Abbiamo pregato Chris [Nolan] di rimanere a bordo, ma ha rifiutato. Dice che non può fare più nulla con la serie dopo questo terzo film. Non vogliamo far morire Batman, sappiamo che ci sono moltissimi fans là fuori che vorranno di più ed è per quello che stiamo vedendo di riprenderlo."

"Ci è piaciuto molto il lavoro che ha fatto per noi Ryan in Green Lantern e sentiamo che è l'uomo giusto per condurre Batman. E' un individuo estremamente di talento e speriamo che i fans lo accetteranno come nuovo Batman."

"Lo script è fantastico. E' stato sviluppato molto negli ultimi 3 mesi o giù di lì. Ma il film deve essere R-Rated e deve essere fatto in un certo modo, deve fare tutto ciò che preoccupa le persone che devono strappare gli assegni per il progetto. Non ne ho idea. Quel tipo di film ha un budget molto alto. Personalmente, lavorare in progetti con quel tipo di budget non è divertente perchè si investe molto nel risultato. Ma se arrivassimo a fare il film di Deadpool quello potrebbe essere molto divertente. Credo che avere la possibilità di farlo R-Rated significherebbe che il budget sarebbe abbassato abbastanza da darti l'opportunità di correre rischi più grandi e fare cose che nelle maggior parte dei film sui supereroi non siamo ancora riusciti a vedere."

Un segreto tra di noi (Fireflies in the Garden) finally hits U.S. theaters

Un segreto tra di noi (titolo originale Fireflies in the Garden), film con Julia Roberts e Ryan Reynolds, raggiunge finalmente le sale americane dopo 3 anni dalla sua presentazione al Berlin Film Festival del 2008.

Il ritardo è stato causato da problemi finaziari che ha subito la compagnia di produzione Senator Entertainment subito dopo il Sundance Film Festival del 2009.

Il film era già uscito in diversi Paesi, ma i cinema americani lo vedranno adesso e la data d'uscita è il 14 ottobre.

After a release date for the Julia Roberts-Ryan Reynolds feature Fireflies in the Garden was announced, a trailer has officially been released.

Fireflies in the Garden has been on the shelf for several years, having premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2008. The film was caught up in the financial struggles of production company Senator Entertainment that began after the Sundance Film Festival in 2009.

Written and directed by Dennis Lee, Fireflies revolves around three generations of one family. Willem Dafoe and Roberts play a married couple, with strained relationships with their son (Reynolds), sister-in-law (Emily Watson) and other family members. A terrible accident happens on the way to the family reunion.

Fireflies, which has already been released in other territories, was shot in Texas. The film will open in U.S. theaters on Oct. 14.

Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock Plot TV Reunion: Co-Starring In Fox Animated Comedy Written By Reynolds & Allan Loeb

EXCLUSIVE: The Proposal co-stars and good friends Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock are teaming again, this time in television. Reynolds and Bullock are expected to lead the voice cast of And Then There Was Gordon, an animated comedy from Reynolds and Allan Loeb’s recently launched TV company DarkFire, which has received a presentation order from Fox. Reynolds and Allan Loeb will co-write the script together, with Reynolds also voicing a character. Bullock is in talks to join the project as an executive producer and a lead cast member. And Then There Was Gordon centers on an ordinary child surrounded by his prodigy siblings and brilliant, but neurotic mother, a role I hear Bullock is eyed for. 20th Century Fox TV, where DarkFire has a first-look deal, is producing. Bullock would executive produce alongside DarkFire principals Reynolds, Loeb, Steven Pearl and Jonathon Komack Martin, all repped by CAA. And Then There Was Gordon seems to be the polar opposite to Fox/20th TV’s upcoming animated series Allen Gregory, which centers on a boy prodigy surrounded by average kids. This marks the writing debut for Reynolds, while Loeb’s writing credits include features Just Go With It and Wall Street 2.

In addition to boxoffice hit The Proposal, Reynolds and Bullock are attached to star together in a feature followup, Most Wanted, reuniting with writer Pete Chiarelli and director Anne Fletcher. Bullock previously executive produced and did an arc on ABC’s comedy George Lopez after championing the then-little known comedian Lopez. This is the second sale for DarkFire. last week, the company received a put pilot commitment from Fox for comedy Guidance. Tyler Labine is attached to star in and produce the project, which is described as an adult buddy comedy set in high school.

In announcing the launch of their company in May, Loeb told me he and Reynolds will be focusing on comedy development, and while the emphasis will be on live-action comedies, DarkFire may also pursue animated projects. “I don’t think anyone can come close to Seth MacFarlane, but we’d like to try,” Loeb said back then. Three months later, he and Reynolds are throwing their hats in the animated comedy ring in a major way.

Reynolds, Richler get stars on Canada's Walk of Fame

Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds, comedian Russell Peters and the late, celebrated author Mordecai Richler will join an elite list of luminaries on Canada's Walk of Fame.

"Ryan Reynolds started when he was eight years old and is now in his mid-30s; his list of accomplishments that he's had over the years is extraordinary," said Peter Soumalias, founding director of Canada's Walk of Fame. "This year, there is no doubt that the success of [the film] Barney's Version stimulated Canadians to nominate Mordecai Richler."
Seven inductees were announced at a luncheon Tuesday in Toronto, which featured clips of Reynolds flying as the readership an regarding usa DC superhero Green Lantern and Peters famously imitating his father ("Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad").
The 2011 inductees also include Dr. Roberta Bondar, the first Canadian woman and neurologist in space, and Burton Cummings, lead singer and songwriter of The Guess Who. The rock legend already has six Juno Awards, the Order of Canada and some 80 platinum and gold record awards.
"Burton Cummings has been doing this for 40 years," Soumalias said. "We did honour The Guess Who a number of years ago, but he's also had a very successful solo career."
Tennis star Daniel Nestor, who has won seven Grand Slam events, and actress Sandra Oh, who starred in the Oscar-winning film Sideways and plays Dr. Christina Yang on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, will also receive sidewalk stars.

Lanterna Verde: ancora in programma il sequel

"La Warner Bros. porterà avanti il sequel di Lanterna Verde": questo il titolo sull'Hollywood Reporter, nel giorno in cui il film registra un crollo del 65% al box-office americano rispetto al weekend d'esordio. Sottotitolo: "La compagnia non rinuncia al franchise supereroistico, nonostante la performance mediocre al box-office". Il film non ha ancora raggiunto i 100 milioni negli USA dopo dieci giorni, e con un budget di 200 milioni (più almeno altri 100 di marketing) difficilmente raggiungerà la soglia per poter essere chiamato un successo al botteghino.
L'articolo cita una fonte "vicina alla Warner Bros.", e sostiene che la compagnia crede nel franchise, anche se è "in qualche modo deluso" dai risultati al botteghino. Ovviamente tra merchandise e le varie piattaforme in cui il film potrà essere ridistribuito, la Warner non faticherà a recuperare quanto speso per avviare il film, ma il modo migliore è realizzare un secondo film, per il quale la spesa sarà inferiore e i risultati (in termini di prodotti correlati eccetera) potranno essere doppi. Detto questo, è improbabile che la compagnia abbia realmente già intenzione di lavorare al sequel, e l'annuncio sembra sia stato fatto più nella speranza di spingere gli spettatori ad andare al cinema (e come risposta al sito Deadline, che non fa che ripetere che il sequel non si farà). Le vere decisioni verranno prese tra alcune settimane, quando gli incassi saranno definitivi, o addirittura quando il primo film sarà uscito in home video e la Warner potrà capire se il pubblico è davvero interessato o meno al franchise.
Il sequel, comunque, è già in fase di sceneggiatura, in modo da essere pronto per la produzione non appena arriverà il via libera: Greg Berlanti, Michael Green e Marc Guggenheim hanno scritto la storyline, e Michael Goldenberg sta scrivendo la sceneggiatura. Martin Campbell ha già detto che non tornerà come regista.

R.I.P.D. Release Date is June 28, 2013

Last month, we told you Jeff Bridges was starring with Ryan Reynolds in director Robert Schwentke’s adaptation of the Dark Horse comic series R.I.P.D. and filming would begin this September in Boston. Well, Universal has just announced a release date and it’s June 28, 2013. As of today, no other movie has claimed the date, but with it being so close to July 4th holiday, it wouldn’t surprise me if another big movie announces the same date.

If you haven’t read the comics, they’re about a group of dead lawmen in the “Rest in Peace Department” who try to keep other dead folks in line. Bridges will play Roy Powell, whom producer Neal Moritz described as “a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years.” Reynolds will play Powell’s partner, Nick Cruz, a recently murdered cop who’s out for revenge. Powell was originally set to be played by Zach Galifianakis, but he dropped out.
